Greetings. Welcome to YSB Gems! =)
YSB Gems is an online jewelry shop of youniquely splendid beautiful fashion accessories. I’m Catherine, but you can call me “Wren.” I’m the artist, designer, maker, and owner of YSB Gems. I'm based out of The Flower City, officially referred to as "Rochester, NY." That is where I reside and make all of my jewelry artworks. I’m a Mompreneur, a lady business owner and a mother of two brilliant children. As a jewelry artisan, I specialize in making colorful handmade beaded jewelry. For this store, I make especially large beaded hoop earrings and wire wrapped rings.
Why do you make colorful jewelry?
Colorful fashion is a sort of wearable art with purpose. Just about anyone who likes colorful fashion or even a pop-of-color with their everyday outfits will tell you that perceiving color is a form of art therapy. I make colorful jewelry because a little bit of color brightens our day, including even for me as the jewelry artist. Just as the flowers, butterflies, birds, and other artworks of the Earth bring joy and intrigue to our lives, I make colorful artworks because they add a bit of joy and intrigue to a person's day.
Some might even say colorful fashion is a fashion statement, as though to say I'm going to be grateful for and appreciate the good things in life all while having hope for and puting my efforts towards other good things. Of course, nothing replaces what's most important in life, such as freedoms and peacefulness for everyone, but the good and beautiful things in life sure do help to nurture our hearts, minds, and souls. I think that especially during the difficult times, such as the present, art therapy is helpful for cheering us up as we’re making it through the day. Whether you like colorful fashion or a pop-of-color with your everyday outfits (or every now and then), and whether it be a colorful apparel item or a colorful fashion accessory, wearing something blissful and colorful helps to brighten one's day, and not only for the one who's wearing the item or a colorful outfit, but also for the ones who are viewing it (the perceivers). At YSB Gems you'll find a wide selection of colorful accessories, my specialty being hoop earrings and rings, to coordinate with or to match your favorite styles.
More About Me & YSB Gems:
Beyond art therapy, I think of my jewelry artworks as a celebration and appreciation for the uniqueness and beauty of nature, including the plants, trees, animals, the seas, and also humans. The style of my jewelry artworks can be defined as boho and colorful style, with some of them being more colorful in appearance than others. Making beaded jewelry has been one of my favorite hobbies for years, and I ultimately turned that hobby into a small business and began a shop.
All the items in the shop are designed, created, packaged, and also shipped out by me. Having a jewelry shop with my own creations had been a dream of mine for several years, and with much work and diligence, that dream eventually became a reality. I named the shop "YSB Gems," to especially represent the uniqueness and beauty of humans. The store's motto accordingly is: "Youniquely Splendid Beautiful as are You."
As a handmade artist, having a business where I sell my arts and crafts has been uplifting to me in a myriad of ways. Not only is it fun and captivating for me when I'm making my jewerly artworks, taking my mind off of stressful happenings in the world (momentarily), but it's also rewarding to make beautiful items for persons to wear, being that each jewelry item that I make is in actuality a beautiful wearable artwork. Altogether, designing and making jewelry items and having a small business where I sell those items to my customers has been a rewarding experience for me, in more ways than I had imagined it would be, including being uplifting to my heart, mind, and soul. Overall, it’s been a joy not only to create splendidly beautiful jewelry artworks for my customers to wear, but to also encourage them to appreciate their own uniqueness and beauty.
